Position Summary :

The Fitness Instructor is responsible for modeling the behavior that will allow each student to fulfill their academic potential through mentoring, planning, organizing and implementing a structured approach to learning, while following a prescribed curriculum in line with the institution's core values.

Essential Functions :

• Deliver the curriculum through lecture, presentation, and use of a learning management software.
• Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and Learning Management Software (LMS) as needed.
• Instruct curriculum in both classroom and clinical / lab settings.
• Take daily attendance and follow up to ensure retention goals are met.
• Record and submit grades to the appropriate personnel / software in a timely manner.
• Be available for student support outside of class times.
• Participate in new student orientations as required.
• Attend all required faculty / staff meetings and graduation ceremonies.
• Stay current on industry trends and maintain certification or licensure in the related field.
• Exhibit professional behavior while at the campus or representing the school in the community.
• Treat all staff and students with respect, free from bias or discrimination.
• Create and maintain an organized lesson plan and work area.
• Manage conflict between students through behavioral observation and early intervention.
• Keep students and academic services up to date by introducing new content, news, and updates.
• Maintain communication with all departments.
• Conduct employer visits, field trips, and guest speakers.
• Stay in touch with alumni to support Career Services.
• Work with students that may require accommodations.
• Continue professional development within the industry you are instructing.
• Other duties as requested by the Campus Director.

Position Requirements :

48 months of work or teaching experience in the vocation, acquired within the preceding 10 years, or a combination of the two.

24 months of work or teaching experience in the vocation, acquired within the preceding 10 years, or a combination of the two and one of the following :

Required to provide two letters of reference from individuals of no relation verifying the work / teaching experience in the discipline of which you are applying.

Must be proficient with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office. Adult education training and experience with Private Career Colleges is preferred.
