Job description
Financial Manager (Contract)
Vancouver, BC | Hybrid
Initial 3-month contract (strong possibility of extension)
My client in the private investment industry is seeking a senior Finance / Accounting professional for an immediate 3-month contract supporting a portfolio of investment entities, trusts, and retained asset companies.
This is a hands‑on, compliance‑heavy role with a strong balance‑sheet and Excel focus , suited to someone who enjoys independent work, structure, and technical depth.
What you’ll be doing
Prepare high volumes of financial statements (Excel‑based, balance‑sheet driven)
Full accounting for multiple trusts and investment entities
Quarterly and annual reporting packages
Cash flow management and quarterly distributions
Tax compliance support (T2, T3, T4, T5, GST, T5013)
Reconciliations, controls, and process improvement
Liaise with external accountants and respond to CRA requests
Light AP / AR as required
Daily work in Excel , with accounting software such as QuickBooks
What we’re looking for
CPA designation required
Ideally 10–15 years’ experience
Public practice background plus Controller‑level industry experience
Strong compliance, reporting, and tax knowledge
Advanced Excel skills
Independent, organized, steady communicator
This is a trust‑based, professional environment with minimal micromanagement. Ideal for a senior contractor who enjoys bringing clarity and order to complex financial structures.
Contract may extend and could be considered for permanent if there is mutual fit.
