Job Description
The Engineering Graduate, Electrical works closely with other engineering disciplines to provide crucial mechanical and electrical decisions, as well as technical strategic data, to support Redpath’s projects. This position focuses on developing and managing technical projects to support Field Operations, ensuring project work is implemented in accordance with safety standards, codes, schedule, quality, and cost control.
Responsibilities
- Participate in planning, coordination, procurement, and management of the overall design and engineering process related to mechanical or electrical requirements.
- Assist in estimating for bids by producing drawings, sketches, calculations, and equipment selections.
- Engage in discussions regarding design and risk management of designs.
- Research, propose, and implement new technologies and processes as appropriate and approved.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures related to mechanical or electrical items.
- Travel to sites to inspect, take measurements, and attend technical discussions as needed.
- Support projects by providing technical solutions as required.
- Check drawings prepared by other Engineers, Designers, or Engineers-in-Training.
- Work under the mentorship of Professional Engineers.
- Complete requirements for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensing.
- Develop electrical and mechanical safety systems.
- Process control, mechanical systems, and other projects to support and enhance field projects.
- Coordinate and manage activities across multiple projects, including developing and overseeing testing processes.
Qualifications
Education
Required : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Work Experience
Required : 1 to 3 years of post-graduate experience as a graduate engineer.
Preferred : Experience working in a mining environment, such as summer placements.
