Job Summary : The Intermediate Finance and Accounting Support will play a crucial role in providing financial and accounting assistance to ensure the smooth operation of our firm. This position requires proficiency in using Deltek Vantagepoint accounting software to manage financial transactions, budgeting, and reporting. Key Responsibilities : Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and expense reports. Process and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments using Deltek Vantagepoint software. Collaborate with project managers and team members to track project expenses and ensure accurate project accounting. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Conduct financial analysis and cost tracking to support decision-making and budget management. Assist in preparing project budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with project requirements and financial goals. Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to maintain accurate financial records. Support the preparation of financial audits and collaborate with external auditors as required. Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Provide support in payroll processing and employee benefits administration. Collaborate with the finance team to identify process improvements and enhance accounting efficiency. Assist in various financial projects and tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager or CFO. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in finance and accounting support, preferably within an architecture design practice or similar professional services firm. Proficiency in using Deltek Vantagepoint accounting software is essential. Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting standards in Canada. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage financial data and reports accurately. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain financial records effectively. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications. Knowledge of payroll processing and employee benefits administration is a plus. Understanding of project accounting and time tracking in a professional services environment is beneficial.
