DIRECTOR, FINANCE - Bilingual English and French
JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Vice-President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Finance is accountable for planning, developing, and implementing policies, procedures, and systems to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of comprehensive financial services. You will provide expert advice on all financial matters and oversee the delivery of key services, including financial planning, budgeting, financial reporting and analysis, and payments in lieu of taxes.
QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized university with a specialization in Finance, Accounting, or a discipline related to the position.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in holding progressively significant responsibilities in management-related fields and experience in each of the following :
- Overseeing the application of appropriate accounting standards and effective financial management.
- Ensuring compliance with government acts, statutes, and regulations, as well as central agency policies, while supporting due diligence and stewardship of public resources through the application of appropriate internal controls.
- Aligning business objectives with operational management of people, policies, systems, and practices for financial planning, operations, accounting, financial statements preparation, and reporting purposes.
CERTIFICATION / LICENSE
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
KNOWLEDGE
Financial policies, practices, and priorities related to financial management, operational planning, procurement, and asset management.Finance business transformation and change management initiatives, including methodologies, designing and implementing change strategies, and measuring the impact.Experience in procurement.Experience analyzing and applying accounting standards.Knowledge of the management of payments in lieu of taxes.ABILITIES

Possess or be eligible to obtain secret security clearance.Position is in the National Capital Region.
