Job description
Purpose of the Position:The Section Grower in Cultivation is responsible for assisting the managers with all cultivation activities within a specific, assigned area of a production facility, such as designated flower rooms, or grow room. You will be a crucial link between the Operations Manager and the Assistant Cultivation Manager as well as the production staff ensuring that crop schedules, health standards, and environmental conditions are strictly maintained for their assigned plants.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Crop Management: Oversee the daily care of plants, including cloning, transplanting, pruning, and, in some cases, harvesting within their assigned section.
  • Environmental Control: Monitor and adjust climate, lighting, humidity, and irrigation systems to optimize plant health.
  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Scout for pests and diseases and apply treatments in compliance with safety standards.
  • Scheduling and Production: Assist with keeping the cultivation plan on schedule, ensuring that tasks occur on time.
  • Staff Coordination: Assist with directing cultivation technicians or assistants in their assigned area, providing guidance and training.
  • Data and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of plant health, nutrient applications, and environmental data.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience: Must have previous experience in cannabis cultivation
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of cannabis plant biology, nutrient requirements, and IPM.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work within a team and provide reports to various managers.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using environmental control systems as well as automated watering systems (ex. PRIVA)
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform manual labour, such as lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to wear PPE for extended periods of time.
  • Pay very close attention to detail.
  • Ability to find effective solutions to problems that arise from time to time.
  • Work well as part of a team as well as independently.

Working Conditions:
  • Busy environment.
  • May require local travel.
  • Some heavy lifting.
  • Fluctuation in temperature.
  • Exposure to plant matter and dust.
  • Noise.
  • Standing/Sitting/Bending/Reaching.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday between the hours of operation 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with a rotating weekend shift.

Work Location: In person.
