Its success is built on a strong project management culture, an effective matrix structure, and a continuous commitment to operational excellence. As part of its growth, the company is looking to welcome a seasoned leader capable of contributing to the delivery of large-scale strategic projects.

Your role

Reporting to the President, the Director of the Project Office and Operations plays a central role in the delivery and performance of the company’s major contracts. As a true orchestrator, this individual provides leadership to the PMO, oversees several key functions of the organization including manufacturing, purchasing, and installation, and actively participates in strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in managing complex projects, excellent business acumen, and a proven ability to mobilize teams and navigate multidisciplinary environments.

What you will accomplish:

  • Lead the Project Management Office (PMO) and supervise all project managers to ensure effective portfolio management.
  • Monitor project performance in terms of cost, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee procurement and purchasing activities, including supplier negotiations and optimization of commercial terms.
  • Supervise manufacturing operations, acting primarily as an internal service center supporting project delivery.
  • Make strategic decisions to anticipate risks, resolve operational issues, and implement effective mitigation plans.
  • Act as a facilitator and decision-maker in situations requiring close collaboration between stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement within teams.
  • Actively participate in the executive committee and contribute to the company’s strategic direction.

What the company offers:

  • The opportunity to hold a strategic role within a growing organization.
  • Direct involvement in business decisions and company direction.
  • Large-scale projects in a stimulating and innovative environment.
  • A committed team and a culture focused on collaboration and performance.
  • A competitive compensation package with benefits.

Skills and qualifications :

  • University degree in engineering.
  • Significant experience in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience leading project teams in a matrix environment.
  • Strong understanding of project portfolio management (PMO) principles.
  • Solid skills in negotiation, budget management, and schedule management.
  • Proficiency with project planning tools, including Gantt charts.
  • Mobilizing leadership with the ability to influence and make decisions in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Perfect command of English, both spoken and written, to communicate with suppliers and clients, most of whom are located outside the province.
  • Good understanding of North American business culture and experience working with multinational clients.
