• ## Role OverviewMLSE is seeking a visionary and technically adept Director of Software Engineering to lead the development of scalable, customer-facing digital platforms that enhance fan engagement across sports and entertainment. Reporting to the VP of Software Engineering & AI, this role will oversee high-performing engineering teams, drive architectural excellence, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver innovative, AI-powered solutions.## Key Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor software engineering teams focused on building scalable, high-performance applications.
• Partner with Product Management, AI, and Data Operations teams to deliver intelligent, fan-centric application.
• Own the technical roadmap, architecture, and execution of software platforms, ensuring alignment with MLSE’s strategic goals.
• Champion engineering best practices, including CI / CD, automated testing, and cloud-native development.
• Drive adoption of AI technologies in platform design and software development.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Digital Labs, Ticketing, F&B, and Finance to ensure seamless system integrations.
• Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for software-related issues.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of engineering talent, including architects and AI engineers.## ## Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with 5+ years in engineering leadership roles.
• Track record of overseeing full software development lifecycles, balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day execution.
• Hands-on experience with modern frameworks and technologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in agile environments and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into technical execution.
