This position will work closely with the Board of Directors to uphold and expand the organization’s commitment to supporting those impacted by an acquired brain injury, supporting the need to overcome limitations, reconnect, rebuild, and thrive in the community.
Working collaboratively with staff while reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide leadership, direction, and vision while managing the organization’s contractual obligations, administration, and finances.
Responsibilities : Leadership
Ensure the organization’s activities align with its vision, mission, and mandate
- Promote and translate the organization’s vision, mission and mandate to internal and external interested parties, partners, the public and media
- Oversee all operational and human capital resources of the organization in an effective and efficient manner
- Manage contracts and meet funding body requirements, including accreditation
- Develop and execute short- and long-term strategies
- Work alongside senior management to oversee program management, including staff relationships, hiring, and reporting requirements
- Manage facility operations, including key relationships
Strategy, Planning & Execution
Develop the organization’s strategic and annual plan in partnership with the Board
Financial Management
Develop and execute an annual operating budget aligned with overall organizational direction and strategic direction as approved by the Board
Donor Relations & Fundraising
Ensure the organization has a diversified mix of proactive fundraising revenue initiatives
Communications & Events
Act as inspiring spokesperson for the organization ensuring strategic messaging aligns with goals and focus
Administration & Policy
Ensure effective policy and procedures are in place and enforced for operational effectiveness
Staff Supervision & Contractor Management
Provide effective leadership and direction to all staff and volunteers
Board Relations
Lead Board of Directors’ engagement, prepare reports and ensure effective governance
Qualifications : Education :
Post-secondary education in business, communications or human services or related discipline
Experience : Required Experience
Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a senior leadership role with the demonstrated ability lead effectively
Preferred Experience
Leadership experience in not-for-profit sector, Board or governance experience
Skills and Abilities :
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and clearly
Additional Assets :
Familiarity with the health and social services sectors

Approachable, helpful, team-oriented, and respectful. Fostering strong working relationships and a positive work environment is a priority.
Other :

Compensation : $80 – 90k annually (commensurate with experience). Holidays and benefits package included as well a benefit package and personal time.
