Job description
Position Summary
The Opportunity

Northern Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Urgent Primary Care Clinic (UPCC) team in Quesnel. This flexible position offers the opportunity to provide urgent primary care to patients of all ages in a supportive, team-based environment. The NP will work alongside patient care assistants and other health professionals to address same-day health concerns and bridge gaps in access to care.

This role does not involve patient panel attachment, allowing the NP to focus on episodic care and urgent needs. The clinic uses Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for documentation and care coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Provide urgent primary care to patients of all ages presenting with same-day health concerns.
Collaborate with patient care assistants and other team members to ensure timely, effective care.
Use Electronic Medical Record (EMR)s (C-MOIS) for documentation and clinical workflows.
Participate in team-based care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Support continuity of care through appropriate referrals and follow-up planning.

Qualifications & Skills

Eligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a Nurse Practitioner.
Strong background in primary care and urgent care settings.
Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed care.

Salary Range:

New Graduate NP - $149,382
1 Year Experience - $156,851
2 Years Experience - $164,320

Qualfications
Education and Experience
-Completion of BCCNM approved Master’s degree level nurse practitioner program.
- Eligible for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

- Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients/clients/residents and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self-care and prognosis.
- Ability to collaborate, consult with and formally refer patients/clients/residents to physicians and other health professionals when appropriate.
- Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices; ability to introduce education and evidence-based research.
- Ability to assess and recognize population health trends; ability to plan and implement strategies for population-based prevention and health promotion.
- Ability to implement and evaluate planned change.
