Solutions Developer

Location: London, ON

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid 2 days on-site, 3 days work from home (with potential to shift to 4 days remote)

Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 1 year (extension possible based on business needs and performance; conversion possible based on business needs and performance)
• Pay Rate: $60.00 $70.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, core business hours 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day
• Travel Requirements: Not required

Job Summary

Within a pod as a developer with a team that includes a product owner, business system analyst, developers, and quality engineers, contribute to the design, development, and build of all the components required for Java web-enabled and database-driven applications. Apply analytical skills to resolve problems and deliver solutions. Design and develop quality solutions for systems issues consistent with project objectives. Develop, implement, and maintain solutions that maximize system availability. Periodic scope assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with other team members to cooperatively design, develop, and deploy quality solutions to satisfy project objectives and client requirements. Writes, tests, and debugs code. Participates in code reviews.
• Take part in construction of the requirements, design, testing, and deployment documents.
• Ensure consistency in coding standards.
• Ensure required documentation is housed in the project repository and that knowledge transfer has occurred to full-time staff upon completion of contract term.

Required Skills

• 8 years of experience within Java, .Net, C#, Java Swing, UI front end
• Experience within API
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong interpersonal skills are required
• Self-motivated, well organized, able to work both independently and in a team environment
• Attention to detail and someone who is a self-starter and adaptable

• Banking or financial institution experience
• Experience within GitHub
• Thick client distributed application

Education Requirements

• Degree or diploma within computer science required
