Position Overview

Reporting to the Electrical Services Team Leader, you will maintain and operate boilers, piping systems, and equipment related to heating, ventilation and pressure vessels at the EKATI Diamond Mine. Emphasis is on participating in maintenance and upkeep of plumbing, water and building facilities. This is a one-year term contract role with the possibility of extension.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform corrective action and minor repairs to prevent equipment or system failure;
  • Maintain a daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activities, and write reports about plant operation;
  • Analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunctions;
  • Perform maintenance tasks on multiple boiler plants;
  • Perform routine maintenance on Mill Wide glycol heating and heat recovery systems
  • Perform routine maintenance on building heating and building ventilation systems (BMS / BAS)
  • Maintain and repair boilers and oil fired furnaces for stand-alone buildings on the mine site;
  • You will ensure compliance to company quality and safety standards as well as statutory requirements.

Education/Experience

  • You will have an applicable trade qualification in relevant discipline (Journeyperson Certification);
  • Minimum 4th Class Operating Engineer’s Certificate;
  • A second trade ticket in the oil burner field would be an asset;
  • Familiarity and ability to monitor and adjust set points to Siemens and Johnson Controls building management systems;
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in an Institutional or Industrial setting;
  • An overriding commitment to safety is a must;
  • To round out the required skill-set, you will be computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office and SAP, as well as proficient with report writing.
