Our Edmonton client is seeking a talented professional for a long term contract of 12-months to support the digital transformation of government services. This role offers the unique opportunity to work within a modern digital delivery division, applying agile methodologies and human-centered design to build efficient, citizen-focused solutions. You will work on a variety of innovative projects, ranging from service reviews to full-scale digital modernizations, ensuring that data is at the heart of every decision.

Responsibilities• Design and maintain reliable data pipelines both on-premises and in the cloud to support diverse business use cases.
• Create optimized star and snowflake dimensional models to enhance query performance and reporting accessibility for analysts.
• Integrate complex data from SQL, NoSQL, and APIs while implementing strict validation checks to ensure high quality.
• Redesign ETL and ELT workflows to remove bottlenecks and handle large, disconnected datasets with increased efficiency.
• Automate the deployment and monitoring of data workflows through CI/CD pipelines to ensure faster and safer updates.
• Develop interactive Power BI dashboards and statistical models using Python or R to identify trends and anomalies.
• Present complex data findings to stakeholders in clear terms to provide evidence for corporate priorities and strategies.
Qualifications• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
• Five years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst manipulating data from diverse on-premises and cloud sources.
• Three years of experience designing dimensional models and building reports or dashboards using Power BI and DAX.
• Three years of experience with SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and performing migrations across cross-database environments.
• Two years of experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
