About the Role

Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is seeking a seasonal Scale/Labourer to join our team in Nelson, BC.

Main Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring all the necessary tools are ready to go on the appropriate trucks for the day ahead.
Provide assistance to the concrete curb operator, concrete finisher and foreman to enable them to focus on their jobs.
Assist in keeping all the equipment fueled, loaded and cleaned.
Proficiency with computers, including data entry and basic software applications.
Experience answering phones and providing professional customer service.
Strong communication skills and the ability to take and follow direction.
Other duties as required.

Qualifications/Experience

Junior position, no experience required
Team player
Willingness to take direction from others on the crew
Ability to complete tasks quickly and efficiently
Ability to be self-motivated and work on their own
Proficiency with computers, including data entry and basic software applications
Experience answering phones and providing professional customer service
Strong communication skills and the ability to take and follow direction

Working Conditions

Use of Personal Protective Equipment is required
Willing to work in field and in all weather conditions
Willing to work overtime (may include weekends) during the busy season (April to October) and on call as necessary.
Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
This is a safety sensitive position; selected candidate must pass drug and alcohol testing as required.

The anticipated wage range for this position is $25.18-$34.20/hour. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
