Job Description
Court Registry Officer (CRO) for the Hamilton District Court (Central Region). This role is available as a permanent full‑time position or a 6‑month fixed‑term part‑time role (32.4 hours per week).
Te Haeata / The Opportunity
The CRO works with a team responsible for the successful operation of the court. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders in the justice system, communicating confidently with judges, chambers staff and other members of the judiciary.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service – interacting with customers on any court related matter via face‑to‑face, phone or email, and maintaining confidence across all communication methods.
- Court Taking – facilitating the running of the court : introducing judges (in English and Te Reo Māori), working closely with them in the courtroom and chambers, and managing jurors and general court administration.
- Case Management – ensuring that the judiciary and case parties have all necessary information, and that logistics are in place so cases are heard in a timely and efficient manner.
- Travel within Waikato Courts may be required; a full, clean New Zealand driving licence is mandatory.

Salary
Remuneration ranges from $59,729 to $80,794. The appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
