The location in Port Mellon , ( British Columbia , Canada ), is seeking talent to fill the position of Human Resources Specialist . This job is full-time permanent .
The Human Resources Specialist position ensures the effective integration of human resources and health & safety functions. In conjunction with the Site and Human Resource leadership, they have responsibility and accountability for managing employee relations functions, benefits administration, policies, procedures and program at the work site. This position manages confidential and highly sensitive legal documents and participates in the management of employee accountability including discipline.
The Human Resources Specialist position is also responsible for the coordination of occupational health and safety programs to ensure the wellbeing of those on Site. The incumbent provides guidance to all levels of management to promote a culture that ensures the highest standards of safety and occupational health.
Areas of Responsibility
Employee Relations
- Fosters and promotes positive employee and labour relations
- Establishes and maintains constructive communication and effective working relationships with management
- Provides advice on employee relations issues to human resources leadership, management and supervisors.
- Participate in employee counseling meetings, including disciplinary meetings.
- Counsels’ management on resolving employee issues.
- Liaise with payroll, and safety department to resolve issues.
- Participate in Case Management of WCB and STD return to work programs.
- Administers group benefits plans, which includes ensuring all eligible employees are enrolled on time, and ensure the processing benefit changes,
- Orientates new employees on the benefit package and pension

Salary information : $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 CAD per year.
