Job description

About Alamos Gold Inc.

Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a long-term track record of creating value for all stakeholders through solid financial performance, low-cost production growth, and a company-wide commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. We operate three mines across Canada and Mexico and maintain a strong portfolio of development and exploration projects. Our core values of safety, teamwork, environmental sustainability, integrity, and commitment empower more than 1,900 team members to thrive and build meaningful careers.

About the Island Gold District

Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District is one of Canada’s most exciting and rapidly growing mining operations. Located in northern Ontario near Dubreuilville, the district includes both underground and open pit operations employing over 900 team members. The ongoing Phase 3+ Expansion will significantly increase production capacity and includes major infrastructure developments such as a shaft, processing facilities, and power upgrades—positioning the operation as one of the lowest-cost gold mines in Canada.

Construction Superintendent

Join Us in Building the Future of Mining Infrastructure!

Are you passionate about large-scale construction in heavy industry? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment? If you are an experienced construction professional who excels in leadership, coordination, and project execution, we want you on our team!

Role Overview

As Construction Superintendent – Plants Area (Phase 3+), you will play a critical leadership role in delivering the Island Gold Phase 3+ Expansion. You will be responsible for overseeing the construction, procurement, and commissioning of plant-area facilities. Working closely with the Construction Manager, engineers, contractors, and site teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution: Lead and oversee all construction activities, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and technical specifications.

Safety Leadership & Compliance: Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring adherence to all safety standards, regulations, and site procedures, including review and approval of work plans and JHAs.

Team & Contractor Management: Coordinate internal teams, consultants, and contractors while managing interfaces between multiple workstreams and maintaining strong working relationships.

Contract & Resource Management: Administer contracts, monitor labour/equipment/material usage, track owner-supplied materials, and manage change orders effectively.

Quality Assurance & Problem Solving: Conduct inspections, resolve design or execution challenges, and ensure work meets quality and performance expectations.

Stakeholder Communication: Lead site meetings, provide regular progress updates, and collaborate closely with engineering, estimating, and project stakeholders.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in construction supervision on large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience in heavy industry construction and commissioning.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage contractors, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Deep understanding of safety regulations, environmental standards, and labour practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience in mining or remote site operations is considered an asset.
  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving ability, and a proactive, self-motivated approach.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a company that values safety, teamwork, integrity, and sustainability.
  • Contribute to a major expansion project that will shape the future of a leading Canadian mining operation.
  • Work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.

Working Conditions

  • Rotation schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off or 14 days on / 14 days off (subject to project needs).
  • Site-based role at Island Gold (northern Ontario).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in an active construction environment, including walking, standing, and navigating site conditions.

Travel & Accommodation

  • Company-provided flights from Toronto, Sudbury, and Rouyn-Noranda.
  • Camp accommodation provided while on rotation.

Ready to make an impact?

Apply today and play a key role in delivering one of Canada’s most significant mining expansion projects!
