Job description

CREATIVITY IS OUR SUPERPOWER. It’s our heritage and it’s also our future. Because we don’t just make toys. We create innovative products and experiences that inspire fans, entertain audiences and develop children through play. Mattel is at its best when every member of our team feels respected, included, and heard—when everyone can show up as themselves and do their best work every day. We value and share an infinite range of ideas and voices that evolve and broaden our perspectives with a reach that extends into all our brands, partners, and suppliers.

The Team:

Located in Montreal, the Mattel Building Sets Campus is a creative hub focused on developing Mattel Brick Shop and Mega Bloks products for a global audience. The campus brings together cross-functional teams who collaborate to support innovation, creativity, and the evolution of iconic building brands. As part of Mattel’s global organization, the Montreal campus offers an inspiring environment where ideas grow and teams work together to bring imaginative building experiences to life.

The Global Security team is responsible for protecting Mattel’s people, assets, and reputation. We achieve this by hiring, training, and developing the best security and investigative professionals, implementing effective policies, collaborating with one another, and leveraging existing and emerging technologies.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated, passionate, collaborative, and detail-oriented security officer with experience in the security field to help protect Mattel’s employees, guests, products, and brands. The ideal candidate is a team player, possesses excellent communication skills, and can organize and prioritize tasks.

This is a temporary position from May 19 to July 31, 2026.

Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Apply best practices from Mattel’s Global Security Department.
  • Perform security and related tasks as outlined in the Contingency Operations Manuals and SOPs.
  • Perform data entry tasks
  • Coordinate traffic control
  • Conduct mobile and foot patrols to monitor the campus for security and facility-related issues. Monitor the access control system, video surveillance system, and “Guardtrax” management system.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to all Mattel employees, vendors, and visitors on the property.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs at your location. Overtime may be required on short notice.

What We’re Looking For:

  • More than one year of experience in security, asset protection, loss prevention, law enforcement, or military service.
  • High school diploma (DES) or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid security guard license (if applicable).
  • Must be certified in first aid, CPR, and bloodborne pathogens, OR be willing to obtain certification through training provided by Mattel (annual training provided).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general company policies, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to stand and walk, climb up and down stairs, and remain standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use security equipment (handheld and walk-through metal detectors, handheld radios, access control systems, video surveillance).
  • Analytical skills that enable you to think critically and make clear, well-reasoned, rational decisions.
  • Take ownership of your responsibilities to maintain, for yourself, your team, and your partners, the highest performance standards necessary to achieve results
  • Mature judgment, strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels. It is important to understand and influence others and their actions to provide a safe and orderly environment.
  • Practical knowledge of PCs and software, including MS Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

*The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience. Mattel offers competitive total pay programs, comprehensive benefits, and resources to help empower a culture where every employee can reach their full potential.
