Job Summary
The Team
The Chilliwack Natural Resource District is on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate leader to head up our Engineering team. You'll be leading a talented team of three, including an engineering officer and a Senior Engineering Technologist, along with a diverse group of in-house and external professionals. The Role
As the Engineering Officer, you'll be key in planning and managing our engineering projects. You'll oversee and approve departmental activities, develop and manage contracts, budgets, and interact with the public, First Nation partners, and a variety of interested parties. You will get a chance to utilize your skills and experience in project supervision by completing field reviews, acting as Coordinating Registered Professional (CRP) or Coordinating member (CM) or Professional of Record (POR) on road or bridge projects. There is ample opportunity in this role to learn and contribute as you lead a productive, high-energy team in efforts to improve existing systems for greater efficiency.
Qualifications :
Education and Experience Requirements
- Degree or diploma in forest engineering, forest management or equivalent related field and three years of experience in road, bridge and major structures construction and maintenance.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) as a Registered Forest Technologist.
- Experience in contract and or project management.
- Experience in managing complex road and or bridge construction projects.
- Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License that does not limit or restrict the ability to conduct the duties of the job.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
