Summary of Job The Project Manager, Websites at TRADER leads large interactive customer facing projects and is responsible for their success relevant to timeline, budget, scope while meeting business requirements and strategy of the Dealer or Dealer Group.The Website Project Manager’s primary responsibility is to consolidate and coordinate the requirements of the client, collaborate with cross-function teams such as Sales, Creative and the Web Development teams, and launch a website that satisfies the client's overall online objectives.The Website Project Manager is responsible for each website component, its level of contribution to the site launch and its level of quality. The incumbent must manage each project effectively to maintain a steady flow of productivity throughout the process.
Key Areas of Responsibility - The Website Project Manager defines, plans, schedules and controls the Dealer Website launch and refresh activities, applying creative and strategic thinking, technical and project management skills to satisfy project requirements. Contributes to ongoing improvement of internal processes to allow for smooth execution of projects and improved efficiency across departments and project team members.
- Develops and documents project parameters including scope, schedule, budgets, specifications; creates, updates and monitors project plans and budget spends (where applicable). Accountable for the execution, management and quality control of multiple complex projects from the initial sales process and signature to site launch, ensuring client satisfaction, meeting and reporting on all timeline milestones.
- Capable of leading and inspiring teams by communicating vision for the project; involvement in each project phase from gathering requirements, documenting statements of work, creating estimates and timelines for both internal teams and the client and executing on project deliverable. Conduct and lead kick-off and status meetings regularly with clients and the internal team, ensure thorough communication with all stakeholders at all stages of every project. Proactively communicates with clients about production recommendations, risks, challenges and solutions.
- Serves as the main client interface on Website launch projects (in a supporting role to sales), clarifies strategic and technical requirements for the Website, can explain complex ideas and processes clearly both internally and externally, and helps manage client expectations.
- Cultivates and demonstrates an interest and awareness of industry trends and best practices as related to the excellence in the production of Websites.
