Job description

About the Role : We are seeking a Sport Category Manager to join our client's e-commerce team. In this role, you will manage the winter and water sports categories in Canada to drive growth and enhance customer satisfaction.

Note, this is not a Marketing role, this is a Category Management role for our client's eCommerce team.

This is a permanent role, and requires the talent to work in the office 2 days per week, and has an excellent total compensation plan.

Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Planning

  • Develop the digital strategy for sports products on our client’s website.
  • Create an annual business plan, identifying opportunities aligned with seasonal trends.
  • Define sales targets for each category and contribute to the overall e-commerce financial forecast.
  • Research and implement innovative solutions to drive digital sales.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and maintain a relevant product assortment.
  • Coordinate sports communication timing for optimal engagement.
  • Performance Analysis

  • Track and manage weekly and annual sales performance.
  • Measure product and website performance, as well as customer behavior.
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve results.
  • E-Merchandising Strategy

  • Collaborate to develop the most effective product categorization and navigation for customers.
  • Ensure optimal product merchandising and consistency in descriptions that resonate with customer needs.
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of e-commerce experience in Canada.
  • Proven leadership within category management teams, mentoring junior members in business strategy.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Passionate about e-commerce and the sports industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and web analytics tools, with experience in performance analysis and reporting.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to innovate.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.
  • Bilingual in French is an asset.
