Job description

Job Description

The is seeking fee-for-service family physicians to provide locum family physician services in the Parkland Integrated Health Centre and the Shellbrook Primary Health Care Centre located in the Town of Shellbrook on the following dates:


  • Friday September 4th from 8 am to 8 pm
  • Saturday, September 12th from 8 am to 8 pm.
  • Thursday, September 17th from 8 am to 8 pm.
  • Saturday, September 19th from 8 pm to 8 am.
  • Saturday, September 26th from 8 am to 8 pm.
  • Sunday, September 27th from 8 pm to 8 am.
Shellbrook is home to an integrated health care facility that opened in 2013. The Parkland Integrated Health Centre houses a 24-hour emergency room, a long-term care facility and a range of community-based and allied health care services which includes Home Care, Public Health, Dietician services as well as Therapies.

EMR: Med Access currently used within Shellbrook.

Job Duties:

Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures, Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health, Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, Provide pre-natal and post-natal care, Advise patients on health care, Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities, Communicate health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention to patients, Perform patient advocacy role, Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues, Provide emergency care, Participate on institutional committees.

Job Qualifications

  • Degree in Medicine
  • Completed Family Medicine Residency training program
  • Must be eligible for licensure with the
  • No experience required, but considered an asset
  • Current
  • A valid Saskatchewan driver's licence
  • Criminal record check
