The Technical Buyer will independently perform the full range of purchasing duties in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Unicel Architectural. This will include material sourcing, supplier development, inventory control, and process improvements to decrease total cost of ownership. This position will work closely with other internal departments to ensure that the company’s finished products meet our customers’ expectations of superior quality and on time delivery.
What You Will Do:
• Strategically source and procure raw materials, finished goods, machined parts, shop supplies and services with strict attention to procedural and quality requirements
• Promptly process requests for quotes, requisitions and purchase orders
• Develop strong relationships and actively manage suppliers to ensure contractual compliance, on time delivery and quality conformance of all goods and services
• Create strategic replenishment requisitions focusing on optimal minimum / maximum stocking levels. Manage the supplier-managed inventory process, drive supplier performance improvements and build relationships.
• Drive supplier performance improvements by conducting supplier reviews and managing corrective actions
• Accurately maintain the procurement data base, including the item master list
• Monitor inventory and create strategic replenishment orders focusing on optimal minimum / maximum inventory levels
• Manage the supplier-managed inventory process, drive supplier performance improvements and build relationships.
• Analyze total cost of ownership, suggest cost reduction strategies, and source new suppliers
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal team members
• Support Engineering, Marketing and Estimating by obtaining quotes for bid packages
• Work closely with Accounting to promptly resolve invoice discrepancies
What You Need to Succeed:
• Bilingual (French/English)
3+ years of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Associates or 2-year degree required, Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business management, or manufacturing preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate independent judgment and initiative
• Strong organizational and project management skills combined with a close attention to detail
• Ability to manage personal workload and prioritize multiple tasks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Driven self-starter dedicated to continual process improvement

Compensation:
This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
