These positions are casual / on-call for short term assignments.
You must be available at least 3 days per week.
Assignments are in schools located across the TDSB.
Aquatics Staff are responsible for instruction in pools and classrooms, including individual assessment and assist with supervision of health and physical education aquatic classes as required and the following :
- lifeguarding during instructional programs in pools
- Develop the aquatics program (Elementary age students) or assist the teacher with the development of the program (Secondary age students)
- Perform maintenance and safety checks of the pool area
- Perform administrative duties, including reporting and assessment of Elementary students
- Adapt and modify programs as needed and set realistic goals (for students with special needs) and adapt and modify regular equipment or ability to use specialized equipment to facilitate instruction and student learning
- Assist students in and out of water (may require lifting), and may assist with dressing and undressing students (Special Education programs only)
Hourly rates of pay :
Supply Elementary Instructor / Lifeguard : $20.02
Supply Secondary Instructor / Lifeguard : $19.01
Supply Aquatic Instructor – Developmental Disability Program : $21.30
3.4% statutory holiday pay and 4% vacation pay are added to these rates
Temporary Elementary Instructor / Lifeguard : $27.69 after completing 30 days
Temporary Secondary Instructor / Lifeguard : $26.34 after completing 30 days
Aquatic Instructor – Developmental Disability Program : $29.40 after completing 30 days
3.8% statutory holiday pay and 4% vacation pay are added to these rates
Rates effective September 1, 2023)
Schedule : up to 7 hours per day between 8 : 00 am and 4 : 30 pm
