Our Industrial Engineer Specialists are also referred to as TPS Specialist. TPS stands for Toyota Production System and is essentially the way we run our plant. In this role, you will be helping support this team with projects, launches and more! This is a vital role at TG Minto and we are looking for someone who wants to grow and develop their skills and talent for a lasting career with us.

General Job Description :

This position reports to the TPS Supervisor and will work with all members of the TG Minto team. The TPS Specialist will assist with all TPS Launch and Kaizen activity. Flexible work hours will be necessary. There is a six-month probation period for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Create and Maintain Kanban (set-up, injection, paint, FG, etc)
• Maintain Visual Controls (labels, dandori instructions, signs, pegboards, etc)
• Create and Maintain Injection / Paint Packaging Instructions
• Maintain WIP Container counts
• Support New Launch Trials
• Support in Kaizen Shop to aid in building racking etc as required
• Assist in layout changes
• Assist other TPS members as required
• Prepare charts, diagrams, and other graphs to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, how materials are handled, and how machines are used
• All other duties as assigned
• Must be willing to work overtime

Qualifications :

Again - our plant runs using the Toyota Production System (TPS), and this role is specializing in that working knowledge. Any experience and knowledge about the TPS System is considered an asset!

Analytical skills. assess changes in conditions, operations, and the environment to help industrial engineers figure out how systems should work.

Communication skills. must listen carefully to instructions from engineers and must clearly articulate problems to their supervisors.

Critical-thinking skills. must identify and correct weaknesses to help industrial engineers solve problems.

Math skills. use mathematics and statistical techniques to analyze data collected from studies.

Observational skills. closely watch the performance of people or organizations so that they can suggest improvements.
