Scott's Garden Centre is seeking a strong, organized hardworking individual with experience in:

Customer Service, Sales, MS Word/Excel Point of Sales System Inventory and , Sales Displays, Horticulture, Floral Design, Driver's License Required, Safety and training experience.

This individual must be keen on multitasking, able to meet deadlines, work weekends, work in a high pace environment. Enjoy being creative, be physically fit and strive to deliver the best customer service possible.


Job Types: Full-time, Part-time


Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Weekend availability
• Sunday - Thursday

Experience:

• Floral: 1 year (preferred)
• Horticulture: 2 years (required)

The Garden Centre Associate works in a fast-paced environment that involves constant interaction with customers to deliver friendly and courteous service while explaining features and benefits of lawn and garden products. This role also involves garden centre maintenance (watering and caring for annuals, perennials and nursery stock), stocking shelves, merchandising, customer carry outs and general housekeeping

· General Store Maintenance
o Cleaning: dusting, sweeping and vacuuming entire store and property
o Filling Shelves
o Merchandising old and new products
o Keeping isles clean and safe for customers
o Keeping all Displays looking clean, fresh and full
o Weeding ground around entire property
o Cleaning Parking lot
o Cleaning Bathrooms
o Keeping all greenhouses clean

· Plant Care
o Watering
§ Using and Lifting a hose
§ Watering quickly and multiple times a day if needed
§ Learning how the water system works and making sure they are working at all times
§ Driplines and field lines etc.
· Making sure all plants are on water lines at all times fixing as needed
o Condensing tables
o Empty racks and shipments
o Pruning and weeding
o Checking that everything is priced and in sellable condition
o Plants organized and easy to find
o Monitor plant health to ensure quality,
§ checking for water daily, and water when plant requires it
o Up-potting plants
o Maintaining the plants in the sold area
o Maintaining all flowerbeds and baskets around entire property
§ Watering, weeding and pruning
· Dailey and weekly Task Lists
o Completing all verbal, written and personally assigned task quickly and efficiently





· Customer Service
o Provides excellent customer service to all customers entering the garden centre, by educating them in the care and maintenance of annuals, perennials, nursery stock and related products.
o Smile, makes eye contact with and greets customers.
o Guides customer to the location of requested items in a timely manner
o Answers questions and provides friendly advice and services to customers.
o Suggests value-added and related products to customers to ensure they go home with what they need.
o Learns about new lawn and garden products on a regular basis.
o Helps customer load soils and carry outs when needed
o Keeps up to date with in-store promotions, in-store deals and product locations
· Floral Shop
o All team members are required to learn wrapping and creating arrangements quickly
o Cleaning flowers once a week
o Keeping the floral shop looking clean and tidy at all times
· Merchandising
o Create visually appealing displays by arranging plants and products on shelves, rotating stock
