Thomas, Ontario (Elgin Zone) Full-Time, Contract ( 8 weeks, to end by Aug 30, 2026 ) This posting is the result of an existing vacancy Application Deadline: May 8, 2026 Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is a federal program committed to help young people gain employment information, skills and experience.

This program aims to support young people, particularly those from communities facing barriers to employment, as they transition into the labour market.

The CSJ Addiction and Mental Health worker in the Withdrawal Management Services program will actively support individuals who are experiencing withdrawal from substances in a community setting.

They will work alongside staff providing client-centered care from a harm reduction approach, this front-line position will engage in community development, capacity building and program development with a wide variety of service providers Consider making a difference in your community by joining our team! WHAT WE'RE OFFERING: What you'll be making - $17.60 per hour When you'll work - This position is 70 hours biweekly for 8 weeks; schedule is rotating days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends between the hours of 7:30am to 9:30pm.

Your pension plan - Immediately eligible for optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Provide client-centered care from a harm reduction approach Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of service providers and organizations Acquire and maintain a high level of current knowledge about substance use disorders and trends as well as treatment options Facilitate successful service navigation for clients through empowerment and/or advocacy Provide education, referrals and support for people using substances and related needs Manage indirect services and administrative duties Engage in community development, community awareness, education and outreach as designated and appropriate, representing the agency in a professional manner.

On occasion, these services may be provided outside of regular office hours Attend and actively participate in team meetings and case conferencing meetings Maintain awareness of and adherence to policies and protocols Support and participate in the quality enhancement activities of the team and agency Actively participate in the supervisory process with immediate supervisor Provide coverage for other team members as volunteered/directed Be supportive of and an active participant in the constant evolution and growth of the agency WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY: Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months.

Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 5 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.

We require the following qualifications: Canada Summer Jobs requirements: Will be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment Are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and am legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.)
