All appointments can be attended in-person or virtually.
USask Career Services is seeking a casual Graduate Career Peer Educator (CPE) to work at Career Services (start date , 2026 with potential to start in August for training). The successful candidate will have an interest in career development, employer relations and experiential learning with an interest in engaging with students, alumni, employers, and campus faculty/staff. We provide a comprehensive training program that will give you all the tools you need to be successful as a Graduate Career Peer Educator.
In the appointment of Graduate Career Peer Educator, your general duties and responsibilities will be:
- Lead for delivering Career Readiness workshops and presentations in Career Services and on campus (Preference will be given to students with facilitation experience)
- Assists and supports educating students and alumni by delivering career services appointments and regular programming
- Lead in programming for reviewing graduate student job documents (Preference will be given to students with industry work experience)
- Provides weekly support to Career Services staff in creating career development and employment-related social media posts and career readiness videos
- Assists and participates in Career Centre events such as Career Fairs and Employer Campus Events
- appointments, resource inventory management and various other reception duties as needed
- Acts as Graduate Career Peer Educator ambassador at promotional events such as Careers Day/Fairs and various networking Career Related campus events
- Assists the Career Educator in developing CPE resources and CPE scheduling
- Provides occasional front reception staff coverage for administrative duties which include phone and walk-up inquiries from students and employers, taking payments, scheduling
- Provides occasional support for CGPS career related events
Your general location of work will be on campus at Career Services, and you will report to Roberta Braid. Our office is open 8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday. Limited evening and weekend work may be required.
Required Number of Hours: on average 9 hours per week with minimum 3-hour shifts Duration of Employment: , 2026-April 30, 2027
Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)
- Current USask graduate student entering/returning to study in the 2026 & 2027 academic years. Priority given to newly admitted students who will be enrolled for min 2 years
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills are a high priority
- Experience and/or a strong interest in providing exceptional customer service
- Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proven teamwork and leadership abilities
- Strong skillsets in grammar and writing
- Competency with technology and software including Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, PowerPoint, AI) and virtual platforms including Zoom
