Description :

· Create effective, user friendly and visually appealing interfaces.

· Design the overall functionality of the product in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.

· Design user interfaces for various projects such as digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials as required.

· Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate the designs.

· Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes

· Relevant experience creating GUI designs based on user interaction and performance

· Experience as a UX designer, interactive designer, UI designer, or similar role, designing for web and mobile applications

· Proficiency with design and prototyping tools

· Thorough understanding of the limitations and appropriate use of web development technologies

· Experience in designing online programs with emphasis in the emotional aspects of human experience

· Experience conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, user journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences

· Experience designing the overall functionality of the product, and in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing

· Experience designing and delivering wireframes, user stories, user flows, user journeys, mockups and prototypes optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces

· Experience facilitating the client’s product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products and optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces

· Experience identifying design problems and devising elegant solutions

· Experience making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features

· Experience gathering user feedback to configure existing interfaces

· A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines, managing competing priorities and client relationship management experience

· Knowledge of network security and network protocols

Knowledge Transfer Requirements

• Knowledge transfer is expected to occur throughout the duration of the assignment through regular meetings, touchpoints, and working sessions with LRC staff
• All design, development, artefacts, and source code, including all relevant and complete documents must be transferred to the ministry in the designated repositories provided
• Dedicated knowledge transfer sessions will be scheduled to ensure completeness of knowledge transfer and all documentation is shared, and allow LRC staff to ask clarification and/or follow up questions

Technical Skills - 55%

• Experience with industry principles like google material design, IOS Human Interface Guidelines etc.
• Sample portfolio of projects for mobile and web.
• Experience in developing code using JavaScript frameworks like Angular or React
• Demonstrated experience developing systems using client-side libraries (Bootstrap, Angular JS, jQuery, JavaScript), HTML5/CSS3
• Experience with team collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Team Foundation Server, Bitbucket or gitlab
• Experience with wireframing tools like Wireframe.cc (http://Wireframe.cc), Axure, Sketch, Adobe photoshop
• Experience with supporting Accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0) / AODA
• Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS, SCSS and LESS, Flex-Layout and CSS grid design concepts Working Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture Working Knowledge of technology, data, databases, applications, and networking techniques, tools and practices
• Proven experience using a variety of methodologies to carry-out the software development lifecycle (e.g., Agile, waterfall, etc.)
• Extensive experience for working on projects for Web and Mobile
• Experience in quickly adapting designs based on client feedback

Other Skills - 40%

• Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)
• Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
• Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
• Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
• Proven experience in leading and executing user research (qualitative and quantitative) with design thinking methodologies and user testing best practices
• Ability to lead UX design discovery sessions with business stakeholders to define personas, goals, user journeys, and pain points
• Ability to develop research scenarios, flows, questions, and testing script for different user groups
• Demonstrated experience to effectively probe and formulate questions during user testing sessions to find out the details and rationale behind each of the participants’ actions and accordingly document user testing findings Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
• Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc (http://Wireframe.cc) and InVision)
• Experience with low - high fidelity prototyping tools (i.e. Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD)B.A./B.S. in Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), or Human Factors
• Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
• Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
