Job description

Job Summary:

The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to handle a fast-paced office environment maintaining high professional standards and confidentiality. This role demands multitasking capabilities such as greeting clients, booking appointments, data entry and working within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 diploma or GED required.
  • Certificate or diploma in secretarial studies, business administration or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum two years prior related clerical experience required or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Minimum of 60+ wpm an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and independently.
  • Strong judgement and discretion in handling sensitive client information and situations.
  • Must be physically able to perform all assigned tasks

Job Duties:

  • Ability to carry out multiple receptionist duties and functions.
  • Scheduling appointments, faxing, scanning documents and photocopying.
  • Receive and assist with incoming calls, taking and distributing messages, processing reports.
  • Create and maintain electronic client files and update demographic information in TREAT and Meditech.
  • Brief client intakes, referral processing, Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) travel arrangements.
  • Facilitate and manage self-referrals and walk in services.
  • Direct clients to other programs and services when needed.
  • Book appointments for town and northern clients as required by clinicians.
  • Maintain clinician appointment schedules and client charts.
  • Process discharged client files and related duties.
  • Maintain and order supplies and equipment for office and treatment room.
  • Demonstrate empathy and compassion in the face of challenging situations.
  • Must adhere to organizational policies and procedures concerning cleaning, hand hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment in support of infection control measures, and attend training when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Salary: $27.30 – $29.45; in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement
