Job Description
Our client, a well-established manufacturing supplier within the window and door industry, is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Bilingual Accounting Assistant to join their team.
Position: Bilingual Accounting Assistant
Department: Finance & Administration
Reports to: Financial Controller
Location: Hwy 7 & Hwy , Concord, ON
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm or 8:am-5pm.
Pay Range: $-$K DOE
Job Type: Contract
Job Summary
The Bilingual Accounting Assistant is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of accounting records, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, to ensure efficient and up-to-date financial systems.
This role also supports payroll and HR-related functions, with a strong focus on collections, reconciliations, and customer/vendor interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain customer and vendor account information
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments using proper collection procedures
- Prepare weekly and monthly AR status reports
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies with customers
- Collect, allocate, and post payments
- Process credits with proper authorization
- Match vendor invoices with receiving documentation
- Investigate discrepancies in vendor invoices
- Enter invoices into ERP system and issue vendor payments
- Maintain accounts payable records
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations
- Support financial accounting objectives and ad hoc projects
- Provide reception and customer service support as needed
- Maintain records, filing, and general administrative duties
Payroll & HR Responsibilities
- Process weekly/hourly and salaried payroll using Ceridian (Dayforce)
- Input and maintain employee data in the timekeeping system
- Ensure timely onboarding setup for new hires in payroll systems
- Maintain HR files, including confidential employee documentation
Education & Experience
- College diploma or certificate in Accounting or Business
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or administrative roles

- Excellent data entry skills
- Professional and polite communication skills
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Experience with accounting/financial software
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in French (spoken and written)
