Our Vancouver government client is seeking a skilled and seasoned Senior Technical Project Manager for an initial 9-month contract to guide the transition of their data center from an on-premise to a cloud-based infrastructure, specifically using Azure.

This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader with a minimum of eight years in project management, PMP certification, and substantial hands-on experience with Azure migrations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day communication, reporting, and coordinating of activities on the project.
  • Plan, control, monitor, execute, and close out project against defined scope, budget and schedule.
  • Manage relationships and lead team of internal and external resources to successful implementation.
  • Manage engagement with implementation vendor.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage project issues and escalate to senior management where necessary.
  • Create and manage project documentation including project plan, project charter, risk registry, etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years in a formal Project Manager role.
  • PMP Certification
  • Demonstratable experience in data center migration projects, from on-premise to cloud (ie Azure)
  • A track record of successfully managing IT Infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
  • A recognized degree or certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience in creating project plans, risk assessments, contingency planning, tracking and management

of project progress, tracking issues, and managing resources.
