Project Manager/Business Analyst

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Project Manager / Business Analyst for a 3-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.

Key Tasks

• Prepares and deliver high-level reports and presentations to executives and outside stakeholders
• Acts as project manager
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand and document project scope and timelines
• Create Project governance documentation
• Interface with senior management to prioritize key tasks
• Status reporting twice per month
• Analyzes and documents business processes and workflows
• Partners with business users to fully understand and document requirements
• Conducts interviews with key project stakeholders
• Assists business users and IT leadership in optimizing scope, benefits and risks of proposed projects
• Manages expectations of users and management
• Develops use cases and UML diagrams to define functional software needs and user roles
• Creates and / or reviews manuals, procedures, and related user documentation; adapts documentation to the appropriate audiences
• Conducts and / or facilitate presentations and process review sessions

Key Qualifications

• Hands-on experience as business analyst and project management
• Strong project management skills which include developing project plans, timeline, milestones, maintenance of RAID logs
• Strong business analysis skills for requirement gathering, analyzes and documents business processes and workflows

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of project management theory and practice
• Strong interviewing and listening skills to elicit detailed business requirements
• Advanced knowledge of BA concepts and methodologies
• Advanced knowledge of UML diagrams like use cases, state diagrams, sequence diagrams, workflow diagrams, etc.
• Knowledge of design mock-ups / User Interfaces
• Advanced knowledge of gap analysis
• Advanced knowledge of the software design and development life cycle in agile, iterative and waterfall environments
• Advanced knowledge of the principles of software development and of current software development methodologies
