We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator for our client in the booming Windsor, ON construction sector.
The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for preparing and / or coordinating the preparation of full estimates on large and complex projects.
This role requires a comprehensive understanding of project specifications, material pricing, and labor costs.
The Mechanical Estimator will work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to provide cost breakdowns, and will also be responsible for the preparation of tender documents.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, excellent mathematical skills, and the ability to foresee potential cost issues to mitigate risks.
The role also involves conducting site visits and gathering all necessary data such as measurements and quantities to create accurate estimates.
The Mechanical Estimator will also be expected to maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
This position requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with experience in mechanical estimating or a similar role.
Proficiency in estimating software is also a must. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
