Position Summary
Microserve is looking for Service Technician to join our team in Cranbrook, BC, or the surrounding area, with the ability to provide services to Castlegar, Fernie, Golden, Nelson, Trail, and Rossland.
The Service Technician is responsible for responding to onsite service calls for various clients and customers. Duties include desk side and onsite troubleshooting of computer and printer problems, add / move / changes and installation of new systems.
They will also be accountable for servicing and repairing various products such as printers, multi-function devices, copiers, and plotters, while performing additional duties as required.
This role’s responsibilities typically involve the routine maintenance and repairs of the above-mentioned devices within a specified geography.
Depending on geography or company needs, there will be a requirement to perform basic work on PC / desktop / laptop repairs as well.
Responsibilities :
Maintains, deploys, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs hardware and related peripherals for Printers, Desktops and Laptops.
Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems.
- Perform diagnostic repairs and preventative maintenance on printers and computer systems for our clients in the local area
- Identify, analyze and document discrepancies and ensure that appropriate adjustments are made
- Review existing IT systems and internal processes
- Implement IT systems
- Identify areas for improvement within IT infrastructures
- Maintain quality assurance for the improvement of existing systems
- Required to repair PC / Workstation and laptops
- Delivery of technical services to end users, specifically in desktops and laptops
- Trains and consults end users on workstations, laptops, printer functions and other computer hardware and related peripherals as required
- Able to re-Image the workstation on client site.
- Record-keeping and asset management
- Configuring and reloading of Operating Systems (OS)
- Effective and timely use of call management and reporting tools
- Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through clear spoken and written communication
Qualifications and Education Requirements :
- 1-2 years of relevant hardware and troubleshooting experience
- Ability to establish and maintain positive customer service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Manufacturer certifications are considered an asset
- Knowledge of manufacturers service advisory and parts lookup processes are considered an asset
- Knowledge of desktop hardware, preferably from an enterprise or business environment
- Knowledge of software installation and troubleshooting in a Windows environment
- CompTIA A+ Certification (or similar) is considered an asset
Position requirements :
Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license, as you will need to travel to and from part depots and various client sites to pick up / drop off client hardware and provide on-site services.
We offer competitive mileage reimbursement. Travel will be required throughout the interior of BC.

Compensation and Benefits :
In accordance with the BC Pay Transparency Act the range for this role for BC residents is between $21 to $26 per hour
