Job Description and Responsibilities Interpro Pipe and Steel is seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Agent to join our manufacturing team in Regina. An integral member of the purchasing team, the Purchasing Agent works to reduce costs while improving services by handling purchasing and procurement activities. Qualified candidates will be results-oriented team players with purchasing experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.* Category Procurement : Support the Category Manager for steelmaking consumables & Energy in all day-to-day activities* Product Sourcing & Purchasing : Research, source, and purchase high-quality products and materials, ensuring timely delivery at competitive prices* Supplier Management : Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules* Inventory Management : Work closely with key stakeholders including Production, Maintenance and Operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring product availability and minimizing excess inventory* Market Analysis : Continuously monitor market trends and industry changes, identifying new suppliers or cost-saving opportunities* Order Management : Create blanket purchase orders, monitor order status, and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.* Cost Control : Review supplier invoices, analyze pricing trends, and collaborate with finance to ensure that budget guidelines are adhered to* Quality Assurance : Ensure that products meet company quality standards and resolve any issues with defective or non-conforming goods* Reporting & Documentation : Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor communications, and inventory levels; prepare purchasing reports for management Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred* Minimum of 2-5 years in a purchasing, procurement or related field.
