Job Summary

We areseeking a Downstream Process Engineer with experience in refiningand petrochemical catalyst & absorbent technologies managementincluding catalyst selection performance monitoring pilot testingperformance optimization and handling.

You will be joining ourGlobal Manufacturing Support Department (GMSD) under our GlobalManufacturing Excellence Center. GMSDs technical team is amultidisciplinary team responsible for providing the requiredhighquality technical support to our Global Manufacturing operatingfacilities (Refineries NGLF and petrochemical plants) inside theKingdom of Saudi Arabia & across the globe.

Our GlobalManufacturing Excellence Center supports and oversees theperformances of This Companys global manufacturing assets.

Yourprimary role will be to monitor and improve catalyst and absorbentsperformances manage inventories support technoeconomic evaluationand selection pilot testing and field technical support.

You willprovide cradletograve process engineering support on catalyst andabsorbents for Global Manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities :

• Review the operations of process catalysts bymonitoring key performance indicators including but not limited toproduct yields deactivation rates remaining lifecycleetc.
• Issue quarterly performance andbenchmarking reports highlighting optimization achievementsperformance gaps and recommendations.
• Providesupport to process technology engineers in resolving any catalystand absorbents performance gaps and assist in implementingoptimization initiatives.
• Conduct yearlybenchmarking workshops with participating Global Manufacturingfacilities to share yearround performances best practices agree oncatalyst optimization and profitability targets and recognizefacility best performers.
• Maintain aninventory of Global Manufacturing catalysts and absorbentsdetailing the technology providers quantity next loading forecastsetc.
• Support and facilitate potential catalystinventory exchange / synergy among Global Manufacturing facilitiesincluding developing and supporting needed contractualagreements.
• Represent the admin area inrefining catalyst selection and evaluation advocating for the needsof the business line according to established companyprocedures.
• Coordinate with other internalstakeholders on the requirements for conducting regular catalystpilot testing activities.
• Collaborate withGlobal Manufacturing refineries in the negotiation and acceptanceof catalysts and adsorbents vendor performanceguarantees.
• Assist with performance test runsto validate vendors Proforma Performance Guarantees.
• Manage and facilitate spent catalyst handling andprecious metals reclamation (e.g. platinum and rheniumbased)activities in Global Manufacturing including the development andmaintenance of procedures.
• Act as the adminarea focal point in providing coordination and process engineeringsupport on corporate catalyst strategies and relatedtransactions.
• Provide field support forcatalystrelated activities such as loading and unloadingregeneration and rejuvenation presulfiding and activation processoptimization and troubleshooting as needed in collaboration withfacility process engineers and other stakeholders.
• Support the pilot testing or field demonstration ofcommercial catalysts and inhouse developed catalysts in ThisCompany facilities in collaboration with R&D and othercorporate technical entities.
• Lead contractcost optimization initiatives related to fresh catalyst procurementspent catalyst handling reuse and metal reclamation.

Requirements :

• This role required candidate topermanently relocate at Dhahran SaudiArabia.
• Hold a Bachelors Degreein Chemical Engineering Process Engineering or a relatedspecialization.
• An advanced degree with aspecialization in catalysis is preferred.
• Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in refiningand petrochemical catalyst and absorbents application withpractical experience in supporting or operating catalytic processes(e.

g. hydroprocessing reforming catalytic cracking etc.) includingat least 5 years of experience in oil refinery or petrochemicalplants.

• Exposure to different technologylicensors is a plus.
• Have experience usingprocess engineering simulation programs.
