The Crisis Counsellor responds to crisis situations, including triage, assessment, crisis management and short-term transitional support.
The Crisis Worker acts as an expert resource for customer follow-ups and reminders.
The Crisis Team travels to meet people in crisis throughout the Prescott-Russell region, offering immediate support to people aged 16 and over who are experiencing emotional distress.
ON CALL POSITION, 12 HOUR SHIFTS (8am to 8pm, days-evenings, weekends)

As a pre-condition of employment :

What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Psychology, any Mental Health and Addictions related program or certification.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in Mental Health and Addiction.
- Excellent clinical and assessments skills in psychiatric crisis.
- In-depth knowledge of mental illnesses and concurrent disorders.
- In-depth knowledge of crisis risk assessment and best practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of Mental Health Act.
- Able to practice and impart the skill of empathy in the client-counsellor interaction, ensuring active listening and dealing with the clients concerns as they present them.
- Demonstrated effectiveness working with minimal supervision with proven reliability and trustworthiness.
- Possess a working knowledge of both official languages.
- Possess strong problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills.
- Capable of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license, use of vehicle and insurance.
