Director of Operations

This well-established and rapidly growing manufacturer wants to benefit from the expertise and experience of an Operations Director for its factory located on the south shore of Montreal.
Under the supervision of the General Manager, you will ensure the good management of our factory. To do this, you will manage the various teams (production, purchasing, planning or even quality, etc.
in order to aim for operational excellence.
Responsibilities :
- Participate in the definition and implementation of the industrial strategy of the production site.
- Manage the factory teams (Production, purchasing, quality, etc.) and coordinate cross-functional functions in order to ensure the continuity of production activity and consequently, the provision of products, at the best cost, in order to properly serve our customers.
- Analyze production capacity to plan the necessary resources (human, material and financial) in the short and medium term and be able to manage order book emergencies.
- Establish performance objectives for the departments concerned and ensure their achievement.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, applying methods such as Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing.
- Propose projects enabling the site to secure production activity and ensure its development in order to meet the group’s ambitions.
- Manage procurement and upstream planning in order to secure the supply of components / materials at the best prices, on time and with the right level of quality.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards throughout the production phases.
- Contribute to the management of human resources (4 supervisors directly and more than 80 people indirectly), whether they are unionized or not.
- Participate in staff recruitment, integration and continuing training processes.
- Maintain rigorous monitoring of staff skills and evaluations.
- Demonstrate a respectful and fair approach to discipline and complaint management.
Qualifications and Experience Sought :
- DEC or Baccalaureate in engineering or business administration.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in operations management within a factory.
- Have demonstrated managerial experience.
- Mastery of IT tools, including the Office suite and ERP systems.
- Having LEAN training or having led continuous improvement projects an asset.
- Strong leadership, ability to manage change and motivate teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic environments.
- Remarkable team management and communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, focused on results and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills in French and English

- Salary from $110,000 and more depending on experience and expertise plus an annual bonus.
