Senior Program Manager, GFT
Job Summary
What is the opportunity?
In this role, you will be managing end to end delivery for Finance and Audit IT across Large Programs from diverse lines of business such as Finance, Capital Markets, Wealth Management & Private and Commercial Banking.
You will be responsible for strategically planning and managing successful implementation of the above mentioned, as well as coordinate, develop, lead, communicate and execute delivery plans to ensure enterprise strategic & regulatory objectives are met on time and within budget, working across a matrix organization and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
What will you do?
Plans, directs and coordinates projects and programs delivery to ensure project goals or objectives are accomplished within approved time frame, scope and budget including but not limited to, managing project scope, requirements changes, multiple and competing demands and priorities, as well as determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics / assumptions.
Works with Business / Technology Owners to ensure that the deliverables achieve a business result that enables value creation;
setting up appropriate governance and oversight of all projects.
Develops integrated baseline project plans applying estimated models; documents estimating assumptions, refines plans and manages performance against them.
Work with Project Managers and Resource Managers to determine project milestones and holds Project Managers accountable to delivery commitments.
Determines quality standards and oversees the execution / production of project and program management documents.
Anticipate and quantify tactical, operational and strategic risks applying risk-based approach to forecasting, mentors project managers / team members in determining risk based provisions.
Raises and tracks issues and conflicts, removes barriers, resolves project issues, and escalates to immediate manager when required.
Facilitates schedule and cost forecasting.
Manage portfolio communications including status reports to executives, stakeholders, business units, vendors, project team, etc.
Provide senior management with timely updates on portfolio milestones, issues and risks.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Undergraduate Degree, with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft project, excel, power-point.
Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation) & interpersonal skills, building stakeholder relationships.
7+ years of Project and Program Management experience, including as IT Project or Program Manager, with experience managing large programs and portfolios ranging from $5 to $20MM.
Matrix managing a diverse team consisting of project managers, business analysts, developers, and QA with excellent facilitation skills.
Advanced project management knowledge & artefacts including plan development; scheduling methodology; project metrics gathering, analyzing, and reporting;
risk and issue assessment and quantification methodologies; cost / benefit analysis and alternatives identification; budgeting, financials and benefits management.
Possesses strong working knowledge of software development lifecycle & Agile delivery methodologies.
Nice-to-have
PMP, CSM or similar Agile certification.
Experience in RBC Project Management framework & tools (JIRA / Planview).
Experience in Financial Services, either in consulting or full time capacity.
Experience managing capital markets and / or regulatory initiatives.
