Are you an entrepreneurial-minded leader with strong expertise in Labour and Employee Relations? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our HR leadership team as a Manager, Labour and Employee Relations within a dynamic healthcare sector.
This role is pivotal in executing our annual Employee and Labour Relations strategy and operational plan.
Location : Head Office in Markham, Ontario (Hybrid work model)
Primary Responsibilities :
Strategic Leadership : Participate in the development and execution of the enterprise-wide LR / ER strategic and tactical plan.
Operational Execution : Bring the LR strategic plan to life through effective implementation and administration.
Negotiation and Administration : Act as the company's spokesperson in collective agreement negotiations (and / or support the Sr.
Director and Sr Manager) , draft settlement agreements, and ensure the smooth interpretation and administration of these agreements.
Training and Development : Lead the LR / ER Center of Excellence by providing training, coaching, and development, and partnering with Human Resources Business Partners.
Team Integration : Foster a team-based and integrated approach to Labour and Employee Relations.
Conflict Resolution : Collaborate with stakeholders on grievances, complaints, and conflict resolutions, and represent the company at arbitration / board hearings when necessary.
Advisory Role : Provide guidance on human resources and employee relations management, including performance matters, workplace investigations, and organizational change.
Leadership : Oversee, manage, lead, coach, guide, and mentor LR / ER staff.
KPI Management : Develop and manage LR / ER / HR KPIs to ensure continuous improvement.
Training Implementation : Plan, develop, and implement training seminars and information sessions to enhance HR / LR and line management skills.
Skills and Requirements :
- Minimum 5+ years of Labour Relations experience in a unionized environment, with multi-site collective agreement locations.
- Proven experience in leading collective agreement negotiations.
- Ability to provide strategic advice and counsel to business leaders.
- Broad knowledge of employment legislation : Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, etc.
- University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources or related discipline. CHRL designation is desirable.
- Strong business acumen and labour analytics experience.
- Willingness to travel intermittently within the province.
