As an Experience Designer you will provide design leadership to teams working on complex digital products and service delivery initiatives across Supply Ontario.
This role is accountable for leading the experience design activities including user research, service design and UX design sprints.
Key responsibilities include :
Lead design for Supply Ontario products :
- Leading the development and review of experience design projects (including user research, UX design and service design initiatives) end-to-end and develop innovative approaches and alternative solutions to deliver high quality, efficient services and products that meet end user and business expectations and needs.
- Leading the scoping, planning and execution of primary and secondary user research, encompassing generative and evaluative research.
- Lead service design activities and deliverables, including workshops, research sessions, analysis and synthesis of insights, experience design direction, service design blueprints and service design or UX prototypes which address end user and business needs and are in accordance with established strategy, standards and protocols.
Support the Experience Design practice at Supply Ontario :
- Support the adoption and application of experience design tools and methodologies, research and design techniques, heuristic and design standards.
- Advise on the assessment and evaluation of design vendors, and in the maintenance and / or revision of design-related vendor of record agreements.
- Provide authoritative advice to executives, senior management and individual contributors on developing and managing service and UX design to deliver on user and business requirements;
including strategies to ensure stakeholder buy-in, maintain industry standards in terms of user experience and identify and demonstrate opportunities for leveraging service and UX design to ensure public and business service excellence.
Lead consultations with vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure that the full design complexity of the undertaking at hand is understood.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following :
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Service design, user research, usability testing, UX design, or content design in large, complex, and multi-channel delivery environments.
- Understanding of how design deliverables integrate with technology solutions including multi-platform environments.
- Knowledge of approaches and techniques to analyze and evaluate key design impacts of proposed projects on Supply Ontario, and industry.
- Knowledge of current and emerging digital design and service delivery models, including research techniques and protocols, prototyping and qualitative research software, interface patterns, visual and content design trends, to determine and select options for complex service delivery solutions across multiple channels and environments.
- Understanding of current methodologies pertaining to systems analysis, agile design, development, testing and implementation methods, data, applications, networking, and security, in order to direct and oversee the integration of experience design in the development, deployment and maintenance of complex multi-channel service delivery programs.
- Communications, interpersonal and consulting skills to establish effective relationships and provide design advice to program management.
- Ability and experience to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders, including multi-disciplinary teams and service delivery partners, to agree on cost effective and efficient design solutions to solving organization issues and challenges.
- Ability to engage and collaborate with the stakeholders at different levels on getting their buy-in on new and challenging initiatives and follow through with them on commitments to ensure quality, on time and on budget delivery of work.
- Excellent oral, visual and written communication and presentation skills to collaborate, articulate and communicate effectively with stakeholders and a wide variety of decision makers and prepare and present a variety of directions and insights and make recommendations.
