DVM Talent Acquisition Partner
Overview
The DVM Talent Acquisition Partner will leverage their existing Veterinary industry knowledge in order to play an integral role in the pursuit of VetCare’s ambitious growth plan to become a leading player in veterinary medicine in Canada.
Partnering with Operations team members, and the rest of the Talent Acquisition team, the DVM Talent Acquisition Partner will focus on building a national pipeline of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) contacts, managing and building a pipeline of talent, assisting in the execution of a campus recruitment program and relationship building while maintaining a service-oriented mindset to promote excellence in alignment with VetCare’s people-first culture and values.
The TAP will play a critical role in closing DVM candidates, and be comfortable making recommendations and suggestions on improving the service we provide to our business partners.
Responsibilities(including but not limited to)
- Support the Regional and Practice Managers throughout the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) hiring process. This includes reviewing resumes, conducting phone interviews, preparing a list of candidate recommendations, scheduling interviews and closing candidates.
- Participate in the population of our database, with an emphasis on record quality and quantity, as it relates to the continuous tracking of DVMs and their contact information.
- In collaboration with the Manager, TA, assists in executing a campus recruitment plan with an emphasis on DVM programs across Canada.
- In partnership with the rest of the Talent Acquisition team, attend, and potentially contribute to, the key professional conferences and industry events in order to expand our network and increase VetCare’s profile in the marketplace.
- Identify creative venues for candidate attraction via DVM communities (including social media platforms like facebook groups and professional networking sites).
- Implement an outreach strategy, each time a DVM post is created, to strategically target everyone who falls within the related geographic catchment area.
- Utilize the Find Em tool to its maximum potential, by building projects for each opening alongside our TAS, and expanding upon our social media network through regular outreach, and capturing as much contact data as possible in our database.
- Develop and implement creative ways to reach our target audience of DVMs and work with marketing and the TA Team to coordinate, organize and participate in VetCare recruitment events.
- Be the guru of DVM related marketplace information and the trends and issues facing the profession - including tracking the most current compensation trends and competitor intelligence.
- Be a Brand Ambassador for VetCare at external events.
Position Requirements
Our ideal candidate is a RVT / PM / DVM with clinical experience and has already transitioned to a corporate role in sales, operations, or recruitment.
Ideally has a demonstrated track record of building relationships with internal partners and overcoming obstacles in a professional and diplomatic way, always with an eye on improving our success rates and keeping processes moving forward.
- Experience using some form of CRM database would be considered an asset.
- You easily and quickly become a part of the team’, and are driven by wanting to contribute to a Company’s success.
- You can work effectively under deadlines organizing multiple detail oriented tasks.
- You have a natural curiosity to learn new things and you pride yourself on your advanced customer service skills, and your ability to change gears quickly without skipping a beat.

This is a remote role for a candidate located in the GTA, Calgary, or Vancouver.
