Job Description

Project Management : Utilize project management principles to oversee conveyor and facility projects, including cost estimation, scope definition, and duration scheduling.

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.

Mechanical Expertise : Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of conveyor systems down to the component level, including belts, rollers, motors, and controls.

Provide engineering-level experience in designing, installing, and troubleshooting conveyor systems to optimize performance and reliability.

Electrical / Controls Systems Integration : Understand the interface between electrical / control systems and mechanical conveyor components to ensure seamless integration and operation.

Collaborate with electrical engineers and controls specialists to design, implement, and troubleshoot conveyor control systems.

  • Drawing and 3D Modeling : Utilize drawing and 3D modeling software to create detailed designs of conveyor systems, facility layouts, and equipment accuracy and compatibility of designs with product models and plant layouts to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency.
  • Maintenance and Optimization : Develop and implement maintenance plans for conveyor systems and facility equipment to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization in conveyor and facility operations.

Safety and Compliance : Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in the design, installation, and operation of conveyor systems and facility equipment.

Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential safety hazards and risks.

Training and Development : Provide training and guidance to maintenance staff and operators on the proper operation and maintenance of conveyor systems and facility a culture of continuous learning and development to enhance team skills and capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in conveyor and facility management within the automotive industry.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage cost, scope, and duration of projects effectively.
  • In-depth mechanical understanding of conveyor systems, including component-level knowledge and engineering-level experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and control systems and their interface with mechanical conveyor components.
  • Proficiency in drawing and 3D modeling software, with the ability to create detailed designs and layouts.
  • Experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams and external contractors to execute projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance in all aspects of conveyor and facility management.
