The first of its kind in Canada, FNHA works as a health-and-wellness partner with BC First Nations to support self-determination and decision-making to improve health outcomes.
Primary Care is in a period of innovation and change and FNHA is leading integration into First Nations communities all over the Island.
Nations are positioning themselves to establish what team-based care looks like for their communities and how they want to see Primary Care show up in their Health Centers.

Title : Wellness Initiative, Senior Coordinator 2 positions open
Contract : 2 Year Term
Hours : 37.5 hours, Monday Friday (core hours 9am 3pm)
Location : Vancouver Island, areas include Victoria Nanaimo & Nanaimo Port Hardy
About the role
As a Wellness Initiative Senior Coordinator, you will provide senior coordination support to the development and implementation of a variety of Primary Care and Health and Wellness events, engagements, and workshops for the FNHA in collaboration with First Nations, key departments of FNHA, and FNHA health system partners.
You will coordinate initiatives, resources and tools aligned with the BC First Nations Perspective on Primary Care and Health and Wellness, including leadership challenges, days of wellness events across the region, and sharing health and wellness stories and innovations region wide.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have / be
- Diploma with demonstrated coursework in First Nations studies, plus 1 to 2 years of significant, recent, and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in the regional health authority systems / services / services, and in particular working with First Nations individuals, communities or organizations on issues related to health and wellness
- Recent, relevant experience, at a coordinator level, in coordination, work planning, budgeting and implementation of activities.
- Proficient in Microsoft systems including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SharePoint and OneNote proficiency are assets
