Our client in Markham, ON is looking for a Plant Manager to join their growing team. The Plant Manager will assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of the plant and allocating work to meet delivery schedules.

Working with the engineering department, the Plant Manager will also be responsible for resolving any mechanical and electromechanical issues relating to production orders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Manage scheduling all production and operational team members, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly production objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure performance to plans by analyzing and reporting production metrics and data,
  • Resolving mechanical and electromechanical product related issues with engineering team.
  • Identify, develop, and implement manufacturing process, productivity, and product improvements projects.
  • Develop and maintain process work instructions and product routings.
  • Provide technical direction to the production department.
  • Equipment maintenance, and Environmental, Health, and Safety projects as assigned
  • Ensure all personnel comply with training requirements, work standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
  • Develop team and individual employee skills and performance through the effective use of on-going coaching and cross training
  • Model, foster and drive company values including Accountability, Respect, Integrity, Vision, Stretch, Boundaryless and Speed.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned
  • KEY REQUIREMENTS :
  • Post-secondary education in mechanical or electrical engineering or production management
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a related engineering position.
  • Knowledge of cutting, machining, and other metal fabrication processes
  • An excellent attitude, superior drive and ambition are a must
  • A team player, with strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record as a leader possessing the ability to communicate effectively with and influence individuals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Auto-Cad, and Solid Works knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Must be flexible and able to multitask and prioritize with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be flexible for overtime and weekend to meet business demands
