Aggregates EIT
Overview
Reporting to the Operations Manager the Aggregates EIT would provide operational and technical resource support for the Texada Quarry Team.
This is a developmental role and an opportunity to gain widespread expertise within the Aggregates business with the ultimate goal of building a long-term career with Lafarge.
Responsibilities :
Technical support for all areas of the business including :
Operations
Mine planning and development
Quality Control
Project Management
Environmental
Examples of responsibilities may include :
To serve as a role model in the areas of safety, environmental stewardship, leadership, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors
Assist area management in planning, coordinating and supervising production activities
Validate and match physical inventories
Data entry for production entries in SAP (plant and production reports)
Work closely with managers and supervisors on pit and plant optimization
Participate and support managers and supervisors regarding safety, quality and production tracking and targets
Participate in monthly meetings outlining improvement opportunities
Coordinating with project managers, quality control personnel, and plant production on project details, scheduling, and problem resolution
Carryout plant and site inspections for quality assurance
Assist structural and slope inspections for identifying potential hazards
Assist with environmental and permitting projects
Relationships with Others Jobs :
Works closely with Operations Manager, Land Manager, Area Managers, Equipment Manager, Mining Engineer and Supervisors
Liaisons with Management, Environment, Safety, Finance and other departments.
Salary : $ 70,.00 to $80,.00 per annum
Qualifications : Education :
Education :
Recent graduate from a Bachelor of Engineering or Technology, Business, or related degree.
Interest in a long-term career in business, engineering, and construction with a goal to pursue P. Eng. or CET designation.

Strong computer technical aptitude to learn new systems and programs
Good physical condition
Ability to perform in a non-routine environment
Ability to make rational decisions and resolve conflict
A team leader with excellent negotiation, communication and people skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter / Problem solver / Self-disciplined
Good Critical thinking and prioritization skills
Good presentation and interpersonal skills
Confidence to work independently, safely, and travel to remote gravel pits
On-site construction experience would be considered an asset
Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) would be considered an asset
Knowledge of Information technology (IT) would be considered an asset
Knowledge of any programming language would be considered an asset
