Our client, a reputable construction company operating in the Greater Vancouver Area, is known for its strong commitment to project excellence and employee development.
With over 50 years in the industry, they are seeking a Site Superintendent to join their expanding team on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities : Supervise and direct construction projects in strict accordance with contract documents, methods, and industry best practices.
Ensure safety compliance for all labor forces, including subcontractors.Complete daily reports, including journals, health and safety documentation, and maintenance records.
Enforce project safety and quality control policies.Coordinate construction crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors while maintaining satisfactory relationships with all stakeholders.
Analyze specifications and construction drawings to complete project plans and schedules prior to mobilization.Monitor project site to ensure compliance with standards, procedures, contract specifications, and best practices.
Research and recommend solutions to design problems, conflicts, and errors.Plan and implement schedules to ensure proper crew, equipment, and subcontractor availability.
Attend and occasionally lead project meetings with internal and external parties.Review cost reports with the Project Manager to ensure budget adherence and resolve any issues.
Complete additional assignments and responsibilities as requested by the Construction Manager or Senior Management.Ideal Candidate Requirements : Engineering Degree (Civil Engineering preferred) or Construction Management Degree with civil experience.
5+ years of civil construction experience.Passion for construction and a valid British Columbia Driver’s License.Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Negotiation and conflict management skills.Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under strict time constraints.Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (no work permit sponsorship available).
