About Invictus Games 2025 :
The Invictus Games is a biennial international adaptive sporting competition for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans from around the world.
Through the power of sport, the Games inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who have served their country.
The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 will take place from February 8 to 16, 2025, on the traditional territories of the Lil ̓ wat7 ú l (L í l ̓ wat), x ʷ m ə θ k ʷə y ̓ə m (Musqueam), S ḵ wx ̱ w ú 7mesh (Squamish) and s ə lilw ə ta ɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Over 500 wounded, injured and sick service personnel and Veterans from more than 20 nations are set to compete in a wide range of adaptive sports, including adaptive winter sports, for the first time in Invictus Games history.
The Vancouver Whistler Games Corporation (VWGC) is a Canadian not-for-profit organization established to organize and host the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team to promote and increase support for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 and its mission.
A successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving results through various digital strategies including SEO / SEM, paid and organic campaigns, event campaigns, email marketing, content marketing, website management and other channels as required.
This individual must be results driven as we are nearing the 9-month mark to Games. It is an incredible opportunity to gear your talent towards building awareness and driving revenue towards an audience for Wounded, Injured or Sick Military Serving and Veteran's using sport on their journey to recovery.
Key Areas of Responsibility :
- Lead and execute B2C / B2B digital marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, engagement, and ultimately conversion to our fundraising and revenue channels..
- Manage all aspects of digital marketing campaigns, including but not limited to : content creation support, social media management, ad copywriting, email marketing,keyword research, Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, re-targeting and programmatic.
- Advise on content strategy for organic social channels to optimize performance and growth
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.
- Analyze campaign performance data and drawing insights to make data-driven recommendations for optimization to achieve KPIs defined by the company including CPC,CRO, ROAS, fundraising, ticket and merchandise revenue growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of digital marketing efforts with overall marketing objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing, e-Commerce and technology and recommend innovative approaches to reach our target audience.
- Ensure digital campaigns are consistent in our messaging, tone and brand guidelines
Qualifications, Skills, Competencies :
- Post-secondary degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 3+ years' experience in marketing and / or e-Commerce, preferably within the sport, event or retail industry
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
- Experience with digital marketing platforms and tools, including Google Analytics 4, Google Merchant Centre, social media management tools, and marketing automation software.
- Demonstrated experience developing marketing programs that support sales or event revenue generation programs
- Strong understanding of marketing planning and analytics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team and with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in a MS Office 365 environment
- Previous experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders an asset
- Photo and Video editing experience an asset
- Knowledge of the Invictus Games, adaptive sports, and the military community.
