IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting a BILINGUAL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR for our Montreal, QC client. (Rue Port-de-Montreal)

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor at its Montreal Grain Terminal. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigning, coordinating, and participating in the regular maintenance and repair activities at our Montreal terminal, while ensuring the provision of safe, timely and efficient service.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

Plan and participate in work activities, ensuring a high standard of workmanship, including :

  • Safety and regulatory inspections.
  • Maintenance of material bulk handling.
  • Adhere to facility repair and preventative maintenance programs.

Perform the daily supervision of staff to ensure full compliance of programs and policies.

Create and participate in the daily shift and toolbox meetings.

Budget, plan, communicate and execute on large-scale facility shutdowns with various internal contractors and external staff.

Order and check pre-ordered material and complete local purchases.

Participate in work site business planning meetings as required with local operations employees.

Control and monitor critical equipment inventory, based on facility design and inventory availability.

Identify safety training requirements and ensure staff have completed their necessary training.

Ensure company equipment and material receives proper care custody, maintenance and usage. Evaluate employee performance and make recommendations to the manager on hiring, promotion and discharge of employees.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Experience in maintenance project planning.
  • Experience in reading building plans and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated physical ability to perform the functions of the job.
  • Availability to work extended or on-call hours.
  • Availability to work on shift, including weekends as required.
  • Bilingual with superior oral / written communication skills (French / English)

Education and Qualifications :

  • Minimum of four (4) years progressive experience in bulk material handling maintenance and repairs.
  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
  • Journeyman level certificate is an asset, yet relevant experience and leadership ability with supplemented supervisory training will be considered.

Principales responsabilits :

  • Planifier et participer aux activits quotidiennes de travail, en garantissant un niveau lev dans lexcution, notamment :
  • Inspections de scurit et rglementaires;
  • Entretien des quipements de manutention des matriaux en vrac;
  • Adhrer aux programmes de rparation et d'entretien prventif des installations.
  • Effectuer la supervision quotidienne du personnel pour assurer la pleine conformit des programmes et politiques.
  • Crer et participer aux runions quotidiennes de quart de travail.
  • Budgtiser, planifier, communiquer et excuter les arrts planifis grande chelle avec divers entrepreneurs externes et le personnel interne.
  • Faire la commande de pices et de matriel.
  • Participer aux runions de planification des activits oprationnelles au besoin avec les employs doprations.
  • Contrler et surveiller l'inventaire des quipements critiques, en fonction de la conception des installations et de la disponibilit des stocks.
  • Identifier les exigences en matire de formation sant et scurit et s'assurer que le personnel a termin les formations ncessaires.
  • Veiller ce que les quipements de l'entreprise reoivent lentretien appropri et que leur utilisation est approprie.
  • valuer le rendement des employs et faire des recommandations au gestionnaire sur l'embauche, la promotion et le congdiement des employs.

Connaissances et comptences :

  • Exprience en planification de projets de maintenance.
  • Exprience dans la lecture de plans.
  • Capacit physique dmontre excuter les fonctions de l'emploi.
  • Disponibilit pour travailler pendant des heures prolonges ou sur appel, au besoin.
  • Disponibilit travailler la fin de semaine, au besoin.

ducation et qualifications :

  • Minimum de quatre (4) annes d'exprience progressive dans la maintenance et la rparation dquipements de manutention de matriaux en vrac.
  • Diplme en mcanique industrielle ou lquivalent.
  • Connaissances en lectrotechnique est un atout.
